Welcome to The Hallberg-Rassy Owners Association

The HROA's aim is to provide sailing, social and other activities, and to promote an exchange of information, experience and views. The Association was formed over 25 years ago, and has grown steadily ever since. We now have about 350 Members, including many Friends - past owners who like to keep in touch and join in with many of our events.

Although the majority of Members keep their boats in the UK and Ireland, we have a strong representation in the rest of Europe and further afield. You can read more about the Association in the Message from the Commodore and on the Benefits of Membership page of this site.

We are very pleased that so many people are now actively using the HROA Cruising Facebook page to plan informal gatherings and meet up with other members. However, an increasing number are using the page to post photos and videos of their individual experiences. Whilst these are interesting and often artistic, this was not what the page was originally intended for and such postings cause problems to those who are accessing the internet whilst roaming. In order to cater for both types of usage, we have set up a new Facebook page, HROA Chat for the informal news, photos and videos, and hope to keep HROA Cruising for the specific purposes of arranging to meet other members and sharing information of navigational interest.

In summary, if you would like to submit a photograph, please read the updated rules for the award at the link below and check that your entry is eligible. Then send it to the editor by email. The deadline for the 2015 Award is 30 September.
