During the yearly service of cleaning and waxing of the hull, completed last week by a professional yard in Northern Adriatic, some shadow areas appeared on the gel coat of the hull of my HR 36 (472).
Just approaching to a close distance from the hull the shadow itself appeared to be an area of very small micro-ball(black spot) or like a silicon-dust, as that used in glass factory, mixed with the white gel coat. It appears as under the surface gel coat cover the inner layers aren't pure and homogenously mixed.
I precise the areas affected are only the stern, around bathing platform, and 1 sq meter side hull abaft the mast shroud foot. People servicing the boat are professional and well-knowledge, usually preparing and refitting old-classic boats in the region. They also were repairing a hole in a sixteen ys old HR 31 and in that occasion they showed me the very different consistence of gel coat between the two hulls!
I wonder what happens in a only three years old boat and I'd like to know if it's a problem already known or a single case (unlucky incident??????????) Does te gel coat mixture has changed in last productions?
Thanks for any help or tips you can give me about that.
