Q Flag in Guernsey

April monthly update for Reeds says that Q flags ‘must’ be flown when visiting Guernsey from outside the Bailiwick.

Our closed facebook page, HROA Chat has highlighted new guidance in the April update from Reeds, as follows:

"The April monthly update for Reeds says that Q flags ‘must’ be flown when visiting Guernsey from outside the Bailiwick. Previously, Reeds had shown that there was no need to fly a Q flag when arriving from the UK or France. The Guernsey Harbour website says that Q flags ‘should’ be flown (in lieu of a courtesy flag, if appropriate). "

One of our members has commented: "We arrived late afternoon and anchored in Havelet Bay, a custom officer arrived in a launch and the paperwork was dealt with. As he was leaving he mentioned that we should have been flying the Q flag."
